Who We Are
Hands-On
Science is a
visiting science program for primary schools and also offers school
holiday programs at two locations. Its teachers' past experience at the
John Gardiner Science Centre from 1987 to 1992 included the
science-based activity sessions for the students, science holiday
programs, professional development for teachers and science on weekends
for families. With the demise of the John Gardiner Centre, Hands-On
Science was formed in 1993.
- Hands-On Science
programs are committed to
quality education. The emphasis of the programs is to foster greater
interest in science in primary schools.
- Hands-On Science can
introduce basic
science concepts with a developmental hands-on approach. Students and
teachers will gain skills and knowledge that will enable them to
complete activities independently with a sense of achievement.
- Hands-On Science
sessions are specifically
designed to meet the teachers' needs. They are designed to be in line
with the Curriculum Standards Framework and aim to
demonstrate different teaching strategies with inexpensive materials.
